Travel Stipend Information

If you are direct service staff for people with developmental disabilities, mental illness, physical or sensory impairments, substance abuse/prevention, traumatic brain injuries, or seniors confronting age-related disabilities AND

You are planning to attend the Full Lives Conference April 15 & 16 in Anchorage, AND

You live in a community off-road from Anchorage and will be staying at the Sheraton Hotel, OR

You live more than 100 miles from Anchorage and will be staying at the Sheraton Hotel, THEN

You could receive a Travel Stipend sponsored by the Governor’s Council on Disabilities & Special Education and the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority!

Here’s how the process works:

The Stipend Committee will award stipends to Full Lives Conference attendees who will incur travel (air or automobile) and hotel expenses. Stipends in the amount of $350 will be awarded to applicants who live in rural, off-road communities and stay in the Sheraton Hotel. Stipends in the amount of $200 will be awarded to applicants who live more than 100 miles from Anchorage and stay in the Sheraton Hotel. These awards are competitive and are not transferrable. Stipend checks will be mailed after the Conference to whomever paid your expenses.

Here’s what you need to do:

• Download the Stipend Application Form and fill out the "Applicant Section";
• Give the Form to your Supervisor at your agency and have him/her fill out the "Recommendation Section".

• Applications must be postmarked or faxdated by March 12, 2010
